So basically my point up above still stands - it might work, but it might not. No mention of 2012, because it was 3 revisions back at that point, and they don't bother making patches for software that old. For what it's worth, when I plug in this drive into my working MBP, I see the 'Install OS X Yosemite' get mounted in Finder. The below screenshot shows EFI in Debug mode in Disk Utility.
AUTOCAD 2015 FOR MAC WILL NOT OPEN ON YOSEMITE HOW TO
Not sure how to tell if it is a Boot disk or not. If you have problems, you can always bite the bullet and buy a new version of AutoCAD.īasically, they are saying that AutoCAD 2015 is the only one guaranteed to work, but at the time of the post, they were set to provide patches for AutoCAD 20. Below you will see the Disk Utility for the USB drive. But based on my limited experience, Windows performance on a Mac is definitely not on par with macOS performance. 128GB on a Mac is like 16GB on an iPhone 11 Pro Max. IIRC, opening large files and hatching were two of the things that caused mine to crash and lock up. I did not use boot camp enough to have a say. This will start AutoCAD with no Drawing open or use a Custom Dialog if specified. There is a variable that will control this. Worst thing that can happen is it's not stable (save often!). I Have seen questions about this all over the web and have found no answer other than code. I think your best bet is to upgrade OSX, and try it. Since it's not working anyway, you have nothing to lose. It sounds like you're still running Leopard or an early version of Snow Leopard? Wow, that's old! I'm surprised you haven't had any other software problems with something that old. I had to upgrade to AutoCAD 2014 at the time to fix the problems, which were frequent crashes and hanging (while pegging the processor at 100%). I can't remember exactly, but I do believe AutoCAD 2012 was the culprit, but I believe it was with Mavericks when that first came out. I've had quite a few compatibility problems in the past with older versions of AutoCAD and newer versions of OSX.
